Naudlot

Dalawang puso
Parehong nasiyahan, parehong nasugatan
Dalawang puso

[song] the damsel in distress

verse 1:
why do you wait?
for your prince that you hate
don't you get tired?
of being the one who always cried

refrain:
this is to my damsel in distress
this is the time i will confess
that i need you
that i love you

chorus:
you are my princess and you mean the world to me
you are the fairest, the only one i see
i ain't your prince
but i can be
your knight in shining armor x4

verse 2:
can you see me?
i've been here to make you happy
can you be mine?
so that everything would be so fine

refrain

chorus

bridge
you may always always cry
but i'm hear to wipe your tears
you may always be so sad
but i'm hear to make you happy
you ain't always heard
but i can be your handy diary
he might not be always around
but i'm just here always by your side

chorus

outro
you are my princess that means so much to me
you are the fairest girl that will be forever seen

Game Changer

All have their game
A certain style of playing will change
The whole  love
Some just play around
Some will fight for love
And some don't want it bad

Love, purely, isn't a game
It's like a road where you give
Where you are rewarded for giving
It's not a paper you write your plans
And not make these writing happen
Love is something real
Something that heightens your feelings
An overdrive to maxima, to infinity

Eventually, when the right one comes
She will change your game
All of the above will happen
Everything will fall in its place perfectly
And not just a part of you will change
The whole you, not only your game
Everything my friend

It's either you become the one changed
Or the one who'll change others
The one who'll be saved
From the wrong sight of love
Or the one who will shed light
And place them in the right track

Who are you between the two?
The gamer or the game changer?
Either way, that one will find the only exception

Fairy Tale

The inspiration of this writing is a song I recently loved - Payphone by Maroon 5. I was enticed with the line "If happy ever-after did exist..." Also, last night was the first time I watched Tangled, a fairy tale in itself. What a combo! Here comes the poem:

It is all in my mind
The replays and flashbacks
Of what used to be us
Of smiles not frown

I remember the happy days
When you and me run our world
Where everyone looks for us
For they envy our joy

I reminisce on the glory days
When you make me smile
And i make you smile
Every day until night

It seemed a royal story
I'm your king and you're my queen
We share everything we have
From riches to emotions
From frowns to smiles
Our life, we shared to ourselves

You're my lucky star
The guide that gave the light
One saved me from misery
One I'm thankful to have

But all good things must end
It seemed a happy ending
But after the glory was never told
It will all be a story, only a story
That will never be confirmed
No actual artifacts to prove it
Can be just my imagination

If happy ever-after did exist
Everything won't just be a memory
You won't just be a part of the past
For I will be holding you so tight
Never letting you go once more

The Suffering of King Tragedy

Haring Lear: Souvenir Program
The tragedy opened its curtain with the scene of the King deciding which part of his Kingdom will go to a specific daughter. As said earlier, the King leaned more on the greedy words of Goneril and Regan. Their sugar-coated words of their love and glory to the King made them easily own a part of the kingdom. Meanwhile, the truthful Cornelia was banished from the kingdom even if she has the best intention among the three. The tragedy began for the King. Blinded by the cheesy words his greedy daughters told him, gave the third piece of the kingdom to the husbands of the two full-of-hungers for kingdom. His suffering will then begin. The tragedy continues.

I can say that the play has a very creative mind. As stated earlier, the main three causes of King Lear’s tragedy-filled life are her daughters. The director of the play chose men to act as the daughters. Aside from the daughters being male actors, one thing distinct about the play is that most of the actors are bald. Only King Lear, the old man, has the hair in the entire play.

The music used in the whole play was very engaging. Intense music played as intense scenes come to the viewers eyes. I really enjoyed the scene when the main scene stops and a guy who’s almost naked passed through the stage and induce blood to the scene. He’s like an angel of death, bringing judgment to Gloster. The music seemed like cabaret music, a sexy one that balances the gore of the blood.
Haring Lear: CD Cover
In terms of production design, the set is very well-thought about. The throne that the king sat seemed more than a normal king’s throne. The stage was really designed for the rain, the funny one of all their props. I had a funny feeling when seeing the black-guys using shower-like props to act as rain. It is a creative and distinct way of showing rain. Knowing that it is a closed theater, a thrust stage to be exact, they used really elements to make the play “wet.” The mountain scene also is a creative scene for me. They used boxes to signify that the blind man, Gloster, is climbing a mountain. Aside from the boxes the said actor climbed, the electric fans in the scene were also a funny one to see in the set. The fans symbolized the air in the mountains.

Haring Lear: Show Ticket

In terms of costume, it was also creative. The play being themed with black costumes really gave an emotion that it will be a sad ending. King Lear, after retiring from his kingship became modern. He wore a polo, a Hawaiian themed outfit to be exact and it is paired with a pair of modern slippers. The led lights that embraced the necks of Regan and Goneril were also creative. It symbolized the royalty of the two. For the Lakayo, the puppet also is a good choice for the set. Lastly, I really love Cornelia’s costume. The white overalls she wore at start symbolized that she is really the good one in the story. Moreover, the last costume of Cornelia had left a different feeling for me. She wore a white plastic bag to cover her body.

For the actors acting, they really acted well. I can say no negative about how they acted. I really enjoyed when the Lakayo acted, how he tells the King about the foolishness he had done. Also, I enjoyed Oswaldo being on stage. He is the comedy in the tragedy. His lines that seemed foolish were the balancing act for the play. Everyone acted well that everyone deserves a standing ovation. Especially King Lear, who was a strong personality and ended up losing his mind at the end.

Overall, it was a good play. It is a different approach on the play knowing that it really has a brutal ending. Almost every important starting character died in the end but their acting served well the play. Haring Lear, a PETA’s production, is a must watch. A tragic story full of suffering and pain yet full of fun and smiles at the end.

[song] Trending

Song Background:

I opened my twitter account and first thing I was was tweets with this hash tag #DoYouRemember. Since everyone's on the craze of this hash tag, I tried to blend in. Share my tweets with the said tag. Remember some stuff with people who mentioned me. I finally decide to create a song about, well again, memories. Since I just remembered some things in the past, here goes the lines of my song:

Do You Remember
The times we shared together
The times I thought forever
Was for me and you

I do remember
the smile you brought with you
I do remember
these smiles remove my blue
I do remember
The words you said to me
I do remember
The promise we'll both see
Movies we didn't see

Do You Remember
The times we shared together
The times I thought forever
Was for me and you

They do remember
the closeness that they see
They do remember
The instance of you and me
That's lovely and happy

Do You Remember
The times we shared together
The times I thought forever
Was for me and you

You do remember
I told you, you're unique
You do remember
I promised that I'll guard you
You do remember
The sweet lines made for you
For you're everything to me
You have the magic I need
The love I do believe

Do You Remember
The times we shared together
The times I thought forever
Was for me and you

You made me
Feel very
Appreciated
Thanks to you!
As my end,
I want to tell
That I loved you!

Sayaw Nila'y Bitin, Sana'y Pahabain
